๐ Tonight โ only what changed
The Scanner shows states ("this ticker is short gamma"). Tonight shows changes ("this ticker became short gamma tonight"). Six short lists, each one a kind of change since the session before โ nothing else.
In 30 seconds
- Look at the row of numbers under the title: each is a list and how many tickers are on it tonight. Click one to jump to it.
- In a list, read the sentence in What changed โ it says exactly what happened.
- Click a ticker for its card, or star it (โ) to follow it.
The six lists
| List | What changed | Sorted by |
|---|---|---|
| Closed through a wall | The close finished beyond the previous session's call wall or put wall. The wall is then drawn again from the new price. | the size of the day's move |
| Dealers changed side | The sign of dealer net gamma changed after holding at least five sessions. Long gamma: hedging leans against a move and calms it. Short gamma: it goes with the move and stretches it. | how long the old side had held |
| A wall moved | The biggest strike is a different one tonight, after standing at least five sessions and without the price closing through it: positions were opened somewhere else, or closed here. Only walls within 15 % of the price are listed. | how long the old wall had stood |
| IV entered an extreme | 30-day IV crossed into the top tenth or the bottom tenth of its own one-year range tonight. | IV rank |
| Volume 3ร or more | Option volume at least three times the ticker's 20-day average, on at least 1,000 contracts. | the multiple |
| Move grade rose | More movement than usual is now priced by the options and delivered by the price, against the ticker's own year. A statement about size, never direction. | the grade |
Each row: the ticker, a sentence of what changed, the close, 1-day change, gamma, IV rank and the move grade.
The most unusual books tonight
Not a change but a state: the tickers with the most readings beyond 3ฯ of their own last 60 sessions and rare for their own year โ the same readings the Viewer marks "unusual". Only busy option markets (A and B) are listed, because a thin one swings by itself.

Alerts โ being told
A member does not have to open this page to know. The same changes, on the tickers of your โ list, show as a number beside Alerts in the top menu โ and, if you switch it on in your account, arrive by e-mail after the data updates: one message, only when something on your list changed.
In your account you also choose what you are told about (walls, dealers changing side, implied volatility, volume, the move grade) and keep the list itself. Every e-mail carries a link that stops them. A change is sent once โ the night it happens.
A routine that works
- Open Tonight after the nightly update.
- Tick โ My list: anything on your names?
- Then every ticker: skim "Closed through a wall" and "Dealers changed side".
- Click the interesting ones; open them in the Options Chart.
